Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, thinks The Eternals are ideal for the MCU and that he doesn’t mind if people haven’t heard of them.
Marvel Studios are experts at taking a lesser known property and turning it into a household name, able to earn hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide. They have done this time and time again and are now looking to do it with The Eternals.
The Eternals will start production in 2019 but is Kevin Feige worried at all if mainstream audiences aren’t familiar with the group? Not at all, as he explained to Bionic Buzz (via ComicBook.com):
“Your reaction about not being familiar with The Eternals is perfect, because most people weren’t familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy and believe it or not there were people that were not familiar with Avengers or with Iron Man. So for us, its finding great stories whether people have heard of them or not and bring them to the big screen in as amazing a way as we can.”

Do you agree with Feige that if the film is done right, the MCU shouldn’t have any trouble in the obscure nature of The Eternals? It will be interesting to see how well the film goes over and if Marvel can continue its hot streak of turning lesser-known properties into blockbuster successes.
