Alien promo teases new multi-platform Amanda Ripley project

January 6, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Over the Christmas period, the social media accounts for the Alien franchise released a number of animated teasers under the title ‘6-Part Dossier Exposing the Secret History of Weyland-Yutani’, with speculation suggesting that these could be promotional material for the upcoming Dark Horse comic Aliens: Resistance.

Well, we now have a new promo, which confirms that Amanda Ripley – the daughter of Ellen Ripley, and protagonist of the Alien: Isolation video game – is indeed the focus of this new project, but given that the teaser ends with the caption “Read. Play. Watch” it appears that the story won’t be confined to just the comic book medium.

Presumably, the Aliens: Resistance comic book will cover the “Read” portion of the caption, with a video game for “Play” (which makes sense, seeing as a new game was announced as in development back in January). As for “Watch”, one would have to assume this won’t be a movie given that the series’ future is up in the air at the moment, but there have been multiple reports of a potential Alien TV series over the past year…

Are you excited about this potential multi-platform Alien project? Let us know in the comments below…
