After a two year absence, the WRC franchise will be making its comeback and the developers have used this period to improve all aspects of the game so that it far exceeds WRC 7. Coinciding with this announcement, a reveal trailer has been released showcasing the Ford Fiesta World Rally Car at Rallye Monte Carlo, and can be seen below…
In WRC 8, players will have access to 50 teams and all drivers of the 2019 season, including Sébastien Ogier (6 times World Champion), Esapekka Lappi, Jari-Matti Latvala, Kris Meeke, Ott Tänak and nine time World Champion Sébastien Loeb. There will also be a selection of WRC 2 and Junior WRC drivers.
The latest in the popular racing franchise will provide over 100 special stages taking place through 14 countries and drivers will encounter random elements to the driving experience such as a dynamic weather system. The weather will be the real challenge for drivers and attention will need to be made to grip, car settings adjustments, tyre selection optimisation and relationship with weather team to ensure the best tips and information on the latest conditions.
WRC 8 will be available this September on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
