Back in November of last year, it was reported that James Cameron’s four Avatar sequels would be going by the titles Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa.
Well, during a promotional interview with Entertainment Tonight (via The Playlist) for his newest film Alita: Battle Angel, Cameron has confirmed that those titles are accurate, but are also subject to change.
“I can neither confirm nor deny,” said Cameron. “All right, here’s what I’ll tell ya. Those titles are among titles that are in consideration. And no final decisions have been made yet.”
Cameron is currently deep in production on Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, having wrapped the performance capture aspects of the movies back in November. The live-action portion of the shoot for those two movies is scheduled to begin in the spring ahead of the release of Avatar 2 – or rather Avatar: The Way of Water – in December 2020.
