Although it’s still a couple of months away from release, early box office predictions for Avengers: Endgame are suggesting that the Marvel blockbuster is on track to smash the record for the biggest ever opening weekend at the domestic box office.
According to Researcher Exhibitor Relations (via Dark Horzions), Avengers: Endgame looks set to open to around $282 million in North America, smashing the $258 million record set by its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War last year.
There is of course enormous anticipation for the superhero epic (its first trailer pulled in a whopping 289 million views in its first 24 hours alone), but one thing that could impact the movie’s weekend takings is its rumoured three hour running time, which would limit the number of possible screenings per day.
