American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming ninth season of FX’s anthology horror series, which reveals that the show will be paying tribute to the Wonder Woman sequel 80s slasher movies with American Horror Story: 1984.

Wonder Woman comparisons aside, 1984 was a big year for slasher films, with A Nightmare on Elm Street reinvigorating the flagging genre, Silent Night, Deadly Night causing controversy, and Corey Feldman (temporarily) killing Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.
Details on AHS: 1984 are scarce at present, although Evan Peters has revealed earlier this month that he’ll be sitting out the season. Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts will be back however, while Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy has also been cast as Roberts’ character’s boyfriend.
