Avengers: Endgame directors say it will be the ending to one of the “grandest experiments in movie history”

April 9, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Anthony and Joe Russo have said that Avengers: Endgame will be the ending to one of the “grandest experiments in movie history”.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has truly been a movie franchise like no other, changing cinema with is interconnecting movies and sub-franchises, all coming together at various stages for big event pictures.

The next big moment is, of course, Avengers: Endgame, seen as the culmination of all that has come before and the end of this chapter in the MCU. The directors of the film, Anthony and Joe Russo, have been hyping up the film at Endgame‘s global press conference (via Screen Rant), calling Endgame the end of the “grandest experiment in movie history”.

Joe Russo said: “This is I think a really unique experiment in movies, this grand mosaic, and depending on how you count it up, 11 franchises interwoven into one big narrative. And I think a lot of people have invested a lot of heart and soul into the characters. And taking place around the world is really heartwarming to see people come up to you and say, ‘Hey, I started watching this with my classmates when I was 10 years old. Now we’re all 21 and we’re going to see it together.’ Or, ‘My parents have taken me to every movie.’ ‘My grandpa has taken me to every film.’ It’s a real sense of community and sharing these stories and believing in them. And with Endgame, we can get the opportunity to finish off one of the grandest experiments in movie history and bring it to, as Kevin said, an epic conclusion. So, what we’re hoping for is that people feel satisfied with the conclusion.”
