Mary Elizabeth Winstead to star in assassin thriller Kate

April 28, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) has signed on to star in Netflix’s assassin thriller Kate, which is being directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan.

Scripted by Umair Aleem, the film will tell the story of a female assassin (Winstead) who is poisoned and, with just 24 hours to live, embarks on a manhunt to avenge her own murder before she dies.

Winstead has recently wrapped filming on the DC girl gang movie Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) where she portrays the masked vigilante Huntress. She will also be seen alongside Will Smith in the Ang Lee-directed action thriller Gemini Man, which received its first trailer this past week.
