Netflix releases extended version of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight as miniseries

If you’re a fan of Quentin Tarantino’s last film The Hateful Eight, and happen to be a Netflix subscriber, then we’ve some exciting news for you as the streaming service has released an extended version of the western as a four-episode miniseries.

In total, the episodes run for a total of 210 minutes (including opening and closing credits and “previously” recaps), compared to the theatrical cut’s 167 minutes and the roadshow edition’s 187 minutes. The miniseries version features scenes and alternate takes from the roadshow version (the first time this has been made available outside of the original roadshow release), as well as some previously unseen footage.

Originally released in 2015, The Hateful Eight follows a group of ‘strangers’ who seek refuge from a blizzard at Minnie’s Haberdashery stagecoach lodge, and features a cast that includes Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, James Parks and Channing Tatum.
