As Marvel continues gearing up for its post-Avengers: Endgame future, the studio has just made a big gain for the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier., with TheWrap reporting that John Wick creator Derek Kolstad has joined the writing team.
The series will see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/Falcon and Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier teaming up in the aftermath of Endgame, with Falcon having now taken on the mantle of the new Captain America. They will also be joined by fellow MCU veterans Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl, who are reprising their Captain America: Civil War roles as Sharon Carter and Helmut Zemo respectively.
Kolstad has written the scripts for all three John Wick films and is currently penning the screenplay for the video game adaptation Just Cause. With John Wick 4 being announced for a 2021 release, it is expected that he will also write the script for that film as well.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier isn’t the only Disney+ series Marvel is developing. Also set for the upcoming streaming service is WandaVision, with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles as Scarlet Witch and Vision, Loki with Tom Hiddleston, and a Hawkeye series with Jeremy Renner. The various Marvel limited series are being overseen by Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige as opposed to Jeph Loeb and Marvel Television, who have handled all previous MCU-related series to date.
