Sony Pictures will be re-releasing Spider-Man: Far From Home with four minutes of additional footage over Labor Day weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This version of Spider-Man: Far From Home will hit theatres on Thursday 29th August in the United States and Canada, as well as being available in IMAX and other large formats in select locations. This extended version will be four minutes longer than the theatrical cut due to the addition of a “never-before-seen action sequence.”
Although Sony has claimed it will be a brand-new action sequence, this could well be the dropped action scene set in the restaurant with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker wearing the Iron Spider suit that was shown in the trailer and multiple TV spots for the film.
This announcement comes quickly off the heels of Far From Home setting a brand new record of becoming the studio’s highest grossing release ever by hitting $1.109 billion, overtaking Skyfall which sat on $1.1 billion.
