The Mandalorian could have some fun surprises for fans of Star Wars‘ Legends characters according to showrunner Jon Favreau.
Star Wars content usually has some fun Easter eggs for fans to uncover but it sounds like The Mandalorian might take that a step further with some fun inclusions from the old Expanded Universe canon, now known as Legends.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Favreau was asked about the potential inclusion of Legends characters like Mara Jade and Grand Admiral Thrawn (the latter of whom was subsequently introduced into the new Disney canon through Star Wars Rebels):
“We do have conversations. Part of what’s fun to see if we could merge the worlds of the original trilogy, the prequels, the sequels, Star Wars: The Clones Wars, and what’s been considered canon up to this point and what’s been considered part of Legends. I think this show offers an opportunity to bring in all those elements so no matter what your flavor of Star Wars ice cream you like there will be something to enjoy. But you’re asking the right questions.”
