While there’s been much speculation about the future of DC Universe given the impending launch of HBO Max (and the fact that a number of DC projects have been announced for the new service including a Green Lantern series), it seems it may be around for a while yet as the streamer has announced that it has renewed Titans for a third season.
Titans is currently airing its second season on DC Universe, with the young heroes pitted against the team’s arch-enemy Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke, played by Esai Morales. Also featuring in the cast of the series are Brenton Thwaites (Robin/Nightwing), Anna Diop (Starfire), Ryan Potter (Beast Boy) and Teagan Croft (Raven), along withCurran Walters (Jason Todd), Alan Ritchson (Hawk), Minka Kelly (Dove), Conor Leslie (Wonder Girl), Joshua Orpin (Superboy), Chelsea Zhang (Ravager), Chella Man (Jericho), Iain Glen (Bruce Wayne), Natalie Gumede (Mercy Graves), Drew Van Acker (Aqualad) and Genevieve Angelson (Dr. Eve Watson).
Titans was the first original live-action DC series to launch on DC Universe, and has been followed by Doom Patrol (which has a second season renewal, albeit one that will air on both DC Universe and HBO Max) and Swamp Thing – although the latter was abruptly cancelled despite rave reviews from fans and critics alike. A Stargirl series is also in the works, although recent unconfirmed rumours have suggested that it could be looking at a move to The CW.
