Iconic filmmaker Quentin Tarantino says he is probably not going to direct his much-discussed Star Trek movie after all.
When news arrived that legendary director Quentin Tarantino had written a script for his own Star Trek movie, many were instantly curious but, unfortunately, it seems that the project might not get a happy ending.
Tarantino has now said that he is probably not going to direct the film himself but would be interested in helping out in a smaller way. Speaking to Deadline, the director said:
“I think they might make that movie, but I just don’t think I’m going to direct it. It’s a good idea. They should definitely do it and I’ll be happy to come in and give them some notes on the first rough cut.”
So, while we might get a Star Trek film from the mind of Tarantino, it just might not be the full package many were hoping for. We will see if anything comes of his script or if this one quietly recedes into the background.
In the meantime, Paramount is currently developing a Star Trek movie from Legion and Fargo creator Noah Hawley, which he has described as his “own take” rather than a continuation of the rebooted Kelvin timeline.
