Yes, the Netflix-produced biopic of Hulk Hogan starring Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth is still happening. Though, it seems like the lead actor playing the titular pro-wrestler hasn’t read the script for it yet. In a recent interview with Screen Rant for his new film Extraction, also from Netflix, the actor spoke about the project.
“Look, I haven’t read a script yet,” Hemsworth said. “I know it’s being written now and worked on. I know very little about that. It’s sort of in the process now, and I’m just fascinated by that world. I think they’re pretty keen to show a side of the world that people haven’t seen before. I’m as intrigued as you are!”
It’s reported that Joker director Todd Phillips and wrestling personality Eric Bischoff are attached to the film. Hulk Hogan has spoken about this movie’s development for years, but it seems like the project was only recently revived. The script is currently seeing re-writes by Scott Silver, who penned The Fighter and Phillips’ Joker.
In the meantime, you can find Chris Hemsworth starring in the Netflix action film Extraction, which is out now. Read our review here.
