It’s been almost a decade since we’ve seen anything from the LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants theme, but a return to Bikini Bottom may potentially be on the cards as designer ExeSandbox’s SpongeBob SquarePants – The Krusty Krab project has progressed to the Review Stage on LEGO Ideas, having achieved the 10,000 votes required to put it in contention to become an official LEGO set.
Based on the restaurant from the beloved Nickelodeon animated series, the project consists of 2,996 pieces and includes a fully designed exterior and interior including the Kitchen, Office and Bathroom, six minifigures for Spongebob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, Sandy and Plankton, and of course, some Krabby Patties. The Krusty Krab will face some competition in the First 2020 Review Stage, with a total of twenty concepts making it through, including the Knight Rider – KITT and Sonic Mania – Green Hill Zone sets.
