One of the modern masters of television, Ryan Murphy, is always looking for ways to keep his brand fresh, which explains why the American Horror Story creator is looking to spinoff his iconic show to something a bit different.
Murphy took to Instagram this morning to tease American Horror Stories, an American Horror Story spinoff that will feature “one-hour contained episodes.” This means the show will go for the true horror anthology route, with a new/standalone horror story told in each episode. This change is a bit different from the usual American Horror Story motif where each season stands alone, but the episodes flow together to tell one story.
Murphy wrote on his Instagram that AHS cast and crew discussed the spinoff in a recent Zoom chat, though he shared a fan-made photo of that Zoom conversation that was made by Instagram fan page The Horror Story, which was meant to imagine a Zoom reunion for the show.

Although the image is fake, there indeed was a legitimate Zoom hangout between Murphy and the cast. Murphy’s caption, where he announced American Horror Stories, seems to be genuine, though the TV creator is known to troll his fanbase. Ryan Murphy also mentions that the team discussed when Season 10 will begin filming, and teased a project he can’t discuss at the moment.
