Dave Filoni, an executive producer and director for The Mandalorian, has revealed George Lucas’ reaction to the series.
When it comes to Star Wars, it’s always nice to have George Lucas’ approval. Even though he has retired from creating Star Wars content, he is still a hugely influential figure.
This especially true for Dave Filoni, who is seen as somewhat of a padawan to George Lucas, and is attempting to bring what he has learned from George over the years to his work on The Mandalorian and other projects.
But what does Lucas think of The Mandalorian? Does he like what Filoni and Jon Favreau have done with the series? Well, in a recent interview with THR, Filioni shared that while he and Lucas don’t usually talk about this type of thing, he has been complimentary:
“When I talk with him, I like to get more knowledge. He’ll give me some reminders, especially before I shoot something, about how many setups I should try to get in a day, and I might rack his brain for certain things about how to cover a scene. He’s been very complimentary. I think he’s enjoyed the show, and he said once [that] now he gets to watch it as a fan and watch it as a viewer. My job is to bring that knowledge forward and pass on what I’ve learned from him in every discipline to Jon and to the creative departments.”
