Keanu Reeves says that the role of Marvel’s Wolverine is one he always wanted to play but thinks now “it is too late” for him to do so.
Now that Hugh Jackman has vacated the role and Wolverine is due to enter the MCU, fans have been busy fan-casting, with Keanu Reeves being a name that many would love to see give it a go.
The good news is that Reeves is also a big fan of the character and, in fact, told SiriusXM that Wolverine is someone he has always wanted to play. Speaking alongside Bill and Ted Face the Music co-star Alex Winter, Reeves said:
“For me, I always wanted to play Wolverine,” in response to a question asking who he wishes he could have played on screen.
Winter responded: “It’s not too late!”
Keanu disagreed, however, stating: “It is too late. It was filled really well. I’m all good with it now.”
Reeves clearly thinks that his age would prevent him from playing the character in the future, perhaps even more so since an older version of the character was already pulled off so successfully by Jackman in Logan.

Reeves has plenty of other projects to be excited about, however. John Wick and Neo aren’t exactly bad substitutes to have on the old CV.
