Elizabeth Debicki, who portrayed Ayesha, the gold-painted queen of the Sovereign in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, would love to reprise her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I want to, I want to. I love [Ayesha],” Debicki said in an interview with ComicBook.com. “I actually really, really loved playing her, and I loved making that movie and working with everybody and James, and it was… it was a really fun job for me. So I hope so. I, sometimes I just think about her golden throne and her golden dress, just waiting somewhere in the wings. I would love, even if I just sort of scooch on for a second. I mean, I would love to come back.”
Following the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the cliffhanger revelation that Debicki’s Ayesha has created Adam Warlock, it would be surprising to not see her character return in some capacity in the third instalment.
While we don’t know when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will begin production at Marvel Studios, director James Gunn has confirmed that the third film will “probably” be his last film in the franchise and the film is still on schedule to meet its filming start date and the release date.
