The full cast of Netflix’s Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, a prequel anime series to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, has been announced with nearly a dozen actors joining the show.
Starring in the series is Joe Manganiello (Justice League), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Vanessa Hudgens (Tick Tick… Boom!) Harry Lennix (The Blacklist), Anya Chalotra (The Witcher), Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why), Jena Malone (Antebellum), Yetide Badaki (American Gods), Christina Wren (Man of Steel), Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop) and Nolan North (Star Trek: Lower Decks).
While there is no additional information on their characters, Manganiello will star as Rose, Slater as Torrance, Hudgens as Willow, Lennix as Boorman, Butler as Chen, Chalotra as Lucilia, Malone as Zeta, Badaki as Queen Meeru, Wren as Nicole, Barbaro as Meagan and North as Clemenson. They join Army of the Dead stars Dave Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Tig Notaro, Omari Hardwick and Ella Purnell who will all reprise their roles from the film.
Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, will follow the origin story of Dave Bautista’s Scott and his rescue crew during the initial fall of Vegas as they confront the mysterious source of the zombie outbreak. The series is being animated by Meduzarts Animation Studio, whose past work has included Star WarS: Battlefront II, Injustice 2, Mortal Kombat X and Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.
Zack Snyder will direct two episodes of the anime series with Jay Oliva (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) serving as showrunner as well as also directing two episodes of the series. Shay Hatten will also write the anime series with Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Wesley Coller serving as executive producers alongside Jay Olivia and Hatten.
In addition to the Army of the Dead and its anime prequel, there will also be a live-action feature length prequel which will be directed by Army of the Dead star Matthias Schweighöfer which will follow his character Lugwig Dieter. Hatten will also write the prequel film with the Snyders and Coller producing.
