Nicole Kidman has worked on some intense films, and with even more intense directors, but the actress says there’s something about her upcoming project, The Northman, that truly scares her.
Speaking to Collider, Kidman opened up about the process of making the new film from The Witch and The Lighthouse director Robert Eggers, the actress stating: “I’m pretty terrified right now. I sound calm, but you shouldn’t see what’s going on inside.”
“I would love to say that I do know what I’m doing, but a lot of times, I make very spontaneous and rather bold decisions with very little caution or thought,” the actress continues, revealing that she plans to use that fear to her advantage. “There’s a lot of abandonment and just going, ‘Okay, I’ll give it a go.’”
Known for making intense films, with both Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe calling the process of filming The Lighthouse very gruelling, it seems like Eggers plans on pushing another actor to their limits for this upcoming 10th century Viking epic.
