As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc with regards to scheduling, Disney has shuffled release dates for its upcoming slate of 20th Century Studios releases.
The Ryan Reynolds-led Free Guy and Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express sequel Death on the Nile were pulled from the 2020 release schedule earlier this year, and will now open on May 21st 2021 and September 17th 2021 respectively – assuming that the theatrical industry is back up and running by those points, of course.
Also moving dates is Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel The King’s Man, which will now open on March 12th 2021. The film was originally set for release in November 2019, before being delayed to February 2020, September 2020 and February 2021. Hopefully this will be the final time it moves.
In addition to the above, Disney has also announced that the Guillermo del Toro-produced, Scott Cooper-directed Antlers has been taken off the schedule, having been moved from its April 17th 2020 date to February 19th 2021. At this point, it’s unclear when we might expect to see the movie.
