So, who had a Star Wars: Droids reboot on the 2020 bingo?
Okay, so its not quite a revival of the mostly-forgotten (and mostly-forgettable) Saturday morning cartoon, but R2-D2 and C-3PO are about to get animated once again for Star Wars: A Droid Story, a new feature film in development for Disney+.
Announced yesterday during the Disney Investor Day presentation, Star Wars: A Droid Tale is being produced by Lucasfilm Animation and Industrial Light & Magic, and is described as an adventure film featuring an epic journey which will introduce us to a new hero guided by R2-D2 and C-3PO.
A Droid Tale wasn’t the only new animated project revealed during the presentation either, as we also got word of Star Wars: Visions, an original series of animated short films premiering in 2021, which will celebrate the Star Wars galaxy through the lens of the world’s best Japanese anime creators.
