Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the MCU’s Scarlet Witch, says that WandaVision is the story she always wanted to tell.
The MCU has a massive slate of Phase 4 projects on the way, including a whole host of Disney+ TV shows such as WandaVision – a series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Scarlet Witch and Vision.
Olsen is very excited about the show and she has told SFX Magazine (via Reddit) that WandaVision is the Scarlet Witch story that she has always wanted to tell, making it an easy decision for her to sign onto the project, which will be the first MCU series on Disney+:
“I thought that was exciting on its own, and also kind of intimidating. It is a bit nerve-wracking being the first. But when [Kevin] Feige explained his idea for WandaVision, and specifically the comics he wanted to reference and pay homage to, it was really easy for me to want to do that, because it was more or less the story that I’ve always wanted to tell… without knowing that we would be interweaving sitcoms!”

It’s not long now before WandaVision is with us, landing on Disney+ in the middle of January. Hopefully, it will be a quality start for this new phase of Marvel storytelling.
Marvel Studios’ captivating new series WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
WandaVision is set to premiere January 15th, 2021, and features a cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Bettany (Vision), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo), Teyonah Parris (Empire) as Monica Rambeau, and Kathryn Hahn (Bad Moms) as Agnes.
