Marvel Studios’ production department certainly has its hands full at the moment, with cameras currently rolling on Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as well as the Disney+ series Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel, and now we can add another project to that list.
Posting on Instagram, Chris Hemsworth has officially announced the start of production on Thor: Love and Thunder, his fourth solo outing as the God of Thunder, by sharing a photo of himself and returning Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi attending a special a Welcome to Country ceremony hosted by the Gadigal and Bidiagal Nation.

Directed by Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi, who also reprises his on-screen role as Korg, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), alongside the returning Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari) as Gorr the God Butcher. The film is set for a May 6th, 2022 release.
