A new actor is donning the Supergirl cape, and her name is Sasha Calle. Today, Deadline has reported that Calle has been cast as Supergirl for the live-action DCEU films. She’ll make her big screen debut in the Ezra Miller-led The Flash from It director Andy Muschietti.
“I saw more than four hundred auditions. The US, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia. The talent pool was truly amazing, and it was very hard to make a decision, but we finally found an actress who was destined to play this role,” said Muschietti via social media.

Muschietti is known for his keen eye for younger talent, especially after casting the now-iconic group of kids for the IT movies at Warner Bros. Could Sasha Calle’s casting as Supergirl launch her career into a different universe as it did for the kids of IT? Only time will tell, but she’ll have a giant platform to try on.
The Flash is being described as a multiverse film loosely based upon DC’s Flashpoint story. It is already massive without the inclusion of Supergirl, as we will see two different versions of Batman here – the DCEU’s current Bat Ben Affleck, along with Michael Keaton reprising his role from 1989’s Batman and its 1992 sequel Batman Returns.
Sasha Calle is known for her work on The Young and the Restless. Calle even saw herself receiving a nomination last year in the Outstanding Young Performer in a Drama Series category at the Daytime Emmys.
