Based on Jordan’s fantasy book series, The Wheel of Time takes place in a world where women are able to wield magic and follows Moiraine, a member of the all-female ‘Aes Sedai’ organization, as she embarks on a quest to find The Dragon Reborn – a mythical figure who is prophesied to fight The Dark One, possibly breaking the world in the process.
“Getting a second season order before the first season has even premiered is such a vote of confidence in the work we are doing and the property itself, and we couldn’t be happier to be able to continue to live and work in the world Robert Jordan created,” said showrunner Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
The Wheel of Time will see Rosamund Pike starring as Moiraine, whil ee the rest of the cast includes Daniel Henney, Alvaro Morte, Sophie Okonedo, Kae Alexander, Madeleine Madden, Zoe Robins, Michael McElhatton, Barney Harris, and Marcus Rutherford.
