Dwayne Johnson to voice Krypto the Superdog in DC League of Super-Pets movie

May 22, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Dwayne Johnson is set to follow his title role in Black Adam by returning to the DC universe – this time as the voice of Krypto the Superdog in Warner Bros. Animation’s DC Super Pets movie, which is now going by the title DC League of Super-Pets.

Written and directed by Jared Stern, DC League of Super-Pets focusses on the super-powered animal companions of some of DC’s most iconic heroes, including Superman’s canine pal Krypto who possesses the same powers as the Man of Steel.

In addition to voicing Krypto, Johnson has also signed on to produce the film alongside Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia under their Seven Bucks Productions company.

The film has been in development for several years now, with Warner Bros. executives reportedly very high on what they’ve seen from the animated movie. It was originally scheduled to open this year, but is now set to release theatrically on May 20th 2022.
