The Witcher star Henry Cavill has released a short teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of the Netflix fantasy series. Watch it below…
The Witcher follows Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who roams the Continent hunting monsters and creatures for hire. The first season, which premiered on Netflix in December 2019, concluded with Geralt uniting with Freya Allen’s Princess Ciri in the aftermath of her homeland’s downfall. With Ciri still being hunted, it is Geralt’s job to protect her and teach her how to harness her mysterious power.
Filming on the highly-anticipated second season began back in February 2020 but was quickly halted due to the ongoing global health crisis. Production later resumed in August 2020, only to be delayed once again following positive COVID-19 tests on-set.
The Witcher wrapped production on the second season in April, but Netflix has not yet revealed a premiere date. It is likely based on this and the previous teaser for Ciri that we’ll get more character teases until a full blown trailer and find out then when The Witcher will return.
