Looking at the work of filmmaker Neill Blomkamp, it’s obvious to see some Alien-inspirations. The District 9 and Elysium director knows his sci-fi roots, and we almost got his take on the world of Xenomorphs. Years ago, Blomkamp was attached to Alien 5, a direct sequel to James Cameron’s Aliens.
At the time, the film (codenamed Red Harvest) was a reinvention, and course-correct longtime mistakes, such as the killing of Newt in between Aliens and Alien 3. Sigourney Weaver was also back as Ellen Ripley, alongside Michael Biehn as Corporal Hicks.
Concept artist Geoffroy Thoorens crafted some stunning pieces of work that would be used to bring this film to life, and they are now out for the world to see. These new photos see Ripley working with a new android and also see a team of mercs suiting up for a mission. Check them out here…
