It seems Matthew Vaughn can’t get enough of the world of espionage. While we await the pandemic-delayed The King’s Man to add to his $800M grossing franchise, the Kick-Ass director has been rounding up an impressive bunch of spies to flesh out his next action blockbuster Argylle.
Vaughn’s studio MARV has announced that Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas-Howard, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa (making her film debut and supplying the soundtrack), John Cena, and Catherine O’Hara will form the Argylle ensemble, and that the film will go before cameras this August
The film, based on the soon to be launched novel Argylle, written by author Ellie Conway, follows the world’s greatest spy” ‘Argylle’ as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. It is the first part of an intended trilogy that will take the franchise from America, London, and various locations around the world.

Vaughn, who will write from a script by Wonder Woman‘s Jason Fuchs, commented saying: “When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”
