HBO Max has released the first trailer for the second season of its anthology dramedy Love Life. Starring William Jackson Harper (The Good Place) taking on the lead role after Anna Kendrick in the first season, season two sees Harper as Marcus Watkins, a newly divorced man who tries dating again. Love Life was developed as an anthology series focusing on a different protagonist’s journey to find their true love. While Kendrick will not be the focus of the new season, she is expected to return as Darby for an unknown amount of time.
Joining the cast this season are Keith David (Greenleaf) as The Narrator, Jessica Williams (Booksmart), Punkie Johnson (Saturday Night Live), Chris “Comedian CP” Powell (Ted Lasso), Arian Moayed (Succession), Leslie Bibb (Jupiter’s Legacy), John Earl Jelks (On Becoming a God in Central Florida), Maya Kazan (The Little Things), Ego Nwodim (Saturday Night Live), Kimberly Elise (Ad Astra), Blair Underwood (Quantico), Janet Hubert (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Jordan Rock (Love) and Steven Boyer (Trial & Error). Returning alongside Kendrick are Zoë Chao, Peter Vack, Sasha Compére and Nick Thune.

Season 2 focuses on Marcus Watkins as he comes out of a years-long relationship with the woman he thought was going to be his person. After the rug is pulled out from under him, he is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he had already found.
Love Life season two will premiere on HBO Max with its first three episodes on October 28. The streamer will then air the next three episodes November 4 with the final four arriving November 11.
