Timothee Chalamet took to social media to give fans their look at the actor’s take on the iconic Willy Wonka.
On Sunday, Chalamet posted the first look image at Wonka, a new prequel film from Paul King and Warner Bros. In the post, Chalamet captioned the photo with “The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last …WONKA,” paying homage to Gene Wilder’s line in the 1971 film.

Wonka will reportedly “focus on a young Willy Wonka and his adventures before opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory.” The film will take place before the events of the novel and is described as a “vivid, mythical beginnings of the imaginative young inventor before he becomes the renowned scrumdiddlyumptious Mozart of chocolate.”
The film, directed by Paddington’s Paul King, will feature multiple musical numbers, and as the photo teases, the film will boast stellar production design.
Wonka is set to include a star-studded cast that includes Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key, Jim Carter, Mathew Baynton, Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Rich Fulcher, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Paterson Joseph, Calah Lane, Matt Lucas, Colin O’Brien, Natasha Rothwell, Rakhee Thakrar, and Ellie White.
