Legendary Hong Kong director John Woo is returning to Hollywood for the first time since 2003’s Paycheck as he teams with The Suicide Squad star for the dialogue-free action film Silent Night.
According to Deadline, the film will see Kinnaman playing a normal father who heads into the underworld to avenger the death of his son. The film is being produced by John Wick’s Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Christian Mercuri and Lori Tilkin.
Woo made his name directing Hong Kong action classics such as A Better Tomorrow, The Killer, Bullet in the Head and Hard Boiled before making his way to the U.S. for 1993’s Hard Target.

His subsequent U.S. films included Broken Arrow, Face/Off, Mission: Impossible II and Windtalkers before a return to Hong Kong with the likes of Red Cliff, The Crossing, and his last film, 2017’s Manhunt.
