Universal Pictures has announced that the tenth instalment in the long-running and hugely popular Fast & Furious franchise has had its release date pushed back.
The tenth and penultimate chapter in the action franchise will now hit theatres on May 19th, 2023 after being delayed by six weeks from its previously scheduled debut of April 7th, 2023 – moving the sequel firmly into the summer blockbuster season.
Fast & Furious 10 is currently wedged in the 2023 calendar between Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which is scheduled for May 5th, 2023, and Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid which is dated for May 26th, 2023. Universal has also announced that DreamWorks Animation’s next film will take over the April 7, 2023 slot which was previously set for March 24, 2023.

While plot details are being kept under wraps for the final two films, the cast will include Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson. Justin Lin, the director of the ninth film in the series as well as several previous instalments, is set to return to the director’s chair for the final two films.
