Halo TV series already confirmed for season 2 on Paramount+

February 16, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Halo, the upcoming TV series based on the video game, is still a month away, but it already has a second season on the way.

Paramount+ has confirmed that season two of Halo is already confirmed to head to the streaming service ahead of the live-action series’ upcoming premiere on March 24th, with Pablo Schreiber tackling the role of Master Chief.

“Halo is an expansive, world-building opportunity for Paramount+, and we’re thrilled to give fans a second season to look forward to before we launch the series next month,” said Tanya Giles, chief programming officer, Paramount+. “Halo will deliver a thrill-ride for fans of the game and non-gamers alike, as it ties together stunning visuals with a deeper look at the personal stories behind these iconic characters, all set within an epic battle for the future of humanity.”

“Halo takes us into a dazzling world that we believe will enthrall audiences as much with its electrifying visuals as its bold, character-driven storytelling,” added David Nevins, chief content officer of scripted originals at Paramount+. “This second-season pickup reflects the confidence we have in the power of this epic series to attract and engage viewers. Halo has been a great collaboration with Amblin and 343 Industries, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to continue it.”

The early confirmation of Halo season two shows that Paramount+ is hoping for an impressive debut for the video game-inspired series. Can this break the curse of video game adaptations and join the likes of series like Arcane over on Netflix? Only time will tell, but we now know that Halo will have at least two seasons to try.

In a war for humanity’s very survival, our deadliest weapon is our greatest hope. In its adaptation for Paramount+, HALO will take place in the universe that first came to be in 2001 with the launch of Xbox’s first “Halo” game. Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, HALO the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future.

Halo stars Pablo Schreiber (the Master Chief, Spartan John-117), Natascha McElhone (Dr. Halsey), Jen Taylor (Cortana), Bokeem Woodbine (Soren-066), Shabana Azmi (Admiral Margaret Parangosky), Natasha Culzac (Riz-028), Olive Gray (Miranda Keyes), Yerin Ha (Kwan Ha Boo), Bentley Kalu (Vannak-134), Kate Kennedy (Kai-125), Charlie Murphy (Makee) and Danny Sapani (Captain Jacob Keyes).

Halo will premiere on Paramount+ on March 24th.
