Video Review – Marvel’s Moon Knight struggles as it finds its footing in the MCU

March 29, 2022 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a video review of Marvel’s Moon Knight…

Marvel takes Moon Knight to Disney+, and the series is off to a rocky start. Can the final two episodes save the MCU’s new hero? At times, it feels like Disney is trying to stuff a Netflix Marvel show into their formulaic MCU style. Join critic EJ Moreno for his early reaction, what works, and what needs to be changed.

Moon Knight follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Featuring in the cast of Moon Knight are Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Moon Knight, Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, Gaspard Ulliel as Midnight Man, Lucy Thackeray as Donna, and May Calamawy as Layla.

Moon Knight is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 30th 2022.
