The world of Fast and Furious might have a new Captain, and she’s marvellous. Yes, Captain Marvel‘s Brie Larson is joining Fast and Furious 10 in an as-yet-undisclosed role.
Vin Diesel took to his Instagram social media account to share a photo with the actress and a caption welcoming her to the franchise. While he didn’t mention who she will play, he did note she’ll be “timeless and amazing” in the Fast mythology.
“Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘That’s Captain Marvel.’ Clearly there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see, however, is the character you will be introduced to in ‘Fast 10.’ You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie,” Diesel wrote on Instagram. Fans have already begun speculating who Larson could be playing. Another villainous role joining Jason Momoa and the returning Charlize Theron, or perhaps a long-lost sister to the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner? Only time will tell, but she’ll likely play a massive role in the series’ two-part finale.
Fast & Furious 10 will be split into two films to serve as a grand finale for the long-running franchise. While plot details are being kept under wraps for the final two films, the cast will include Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson. Justin Lin, the director of the ninth film in the series as well as several previous instalments, is set to return to the director’s chair for the final two films.
Fast & Furious 10 is set for release on May 19th, 2023.
