As part of the raft of new content announcements at Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm has revealed that it is heading to the High Republic era for the saga’s first ever animated series aimed at preschoolers, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
Set a couple of centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Young Jedi Adventures features adventures with Younglings “as they are swept off into adventures, and start their journeys on the path to becoming Jedi Knights, learning valuable skills for our galaxy and the galaxy far, far away. The Jedi-in-training will tackle topics of compassion, self-discipline, teamwork, patience, and friendship.”
As per Dark Horizons, the plot for the series “centers on a group of Younglings who, their entire life, have grown up on Coruscant. Master Yoda knows they need real-life experience in the field and put their Jedi teachings into practice. So he sends them to different outpost temples in the Outer Rim, and together, they go on adventures saving the day and helping other people.”

Michael Olson (Puppy Dog Pals) is serving as showrunner on Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, which becomes one of the earliest High Republic-era projects outside of books and comics (the live-action Star Wars: The Acolyte is also in development). The new series is slated to premiere on Disney Junior and Disney+ in 2023.
