Having pulled in over $400 million with its long-gestating Uncharted movie, Sony’s PlayStation Productions division is now revving up on another video game adaptation with Deadline reporting that Outlander star Sam Heughan is circling the studio’s Days Gone movie.
Based on Sony Interactive Entertainment and Ben Studio’s post-apocalyptic action adventure game, Days Gone takes place two years after a devastating pandemic turns humanity into zombie-like creatures referred to as Freakers.
Assuming the deal closes, Heughan will portray Deacon St. John, a former member of an outlaw motorcycle club who fights to survive in a devastated world of mutated humans whilst searching for the long-lost love of his life.
Oscar-nominated screenwriter Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) is attached to write the script for the film, as well as producing with Jennifer Klein through their Vendetta Productions banner.
