Just days after landing the iconic role of Barbarella, Sydney Sweeney is back with another round of movie news. This time, her next prominent feature has found a new home.
The Euphoria actress will star and produce in The Caretaker from Universal Pictures. Deadline reports that the studio just landed the rights to Marcus Kliewer’s short story and will see Karl Gajdusek adapt the script.
Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay and Brad Fuller are set to produce alongside Scott Glassgold through Ground Control. Deadline reported this as Bay and Fuller’s “first major package the producing duo delivered to the studio” since signing the first-look deal with Universal.
The Caretaker tells the story of a young woman who accepts a caretaking job from Craigslist and quickly discovers her responsibilities have stakes far greater — and more dangerous — than she ever could have imagined.
