The team behind the viral sensation Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey are once again set to visit the magical world of lapsed rights and the Public Domain to bring the darker side of J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan to life with Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare.
Following the news that writer-director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s horror retelling of the A.A. Milne’s classic, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was to get a cinema release in February 2023, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that he was also working on another twisted take on a beloved children’s tale with Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare.
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey became an internet sensation when it was announced with a series of stills during the summer, with its popularity prompting reshoots for the Pooh and Piglet slasher film. It features a cast that includes Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, and Danielle Scott and will release in cinemas in the U.K., U.S., Mexico and Canada next year.
