Hopefully Hugh Jackman has enjoyed his Christmas, as he’s got a hectic few months ahead of him in the gym as he looks to get in “better shape than ever” for his return as Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson in Marvel Studios’ as-yet-untitled Deadpool 3.
Jackman has already spoken about what drew him to the team-up, citing a rewatch of buddy cop classic 48 Hours as the moment that opened his eyes to the possibilities, and now the star has been talking to Empire Magazine, giving us some insight on the type of interplay we can expect between the two fan-favourite mutants.
“How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other,” said Jackman when asked about Logan and Wade’s relationship. “I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot… He’s the fast-talking, quick-worded loudmouth, and my character just wants to punch him in the head. To just shut him up.”
Wolverine and Deadpool are slated to team up on September 6th 2024.
