With filming now officially underway on The Penguin, the first batch of set photos have arrived online for HBO Max’s upcoming spinoff to Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
The photos give us a look at the returning Colin Farrell disguised once more under his incredible Oswald Cobblepot make-up, as well as our first peek at Cristin Milioti who is taking on the role of one of the series’ antagonists Sofia Falcone, the daughter of mobster Carmine Falcone, played by John Turturro in The Batman.

The Penguin is set to serve as a bridge between The Batman and The Batman Part II, taking place in the aftermath of last year’s acclaimed Robert Pattinson film. Along with Farrell and Milioti, the series will see Clancy Brown taking on the role of gangster Sal Maroni, while Michael Kelly (House of Cards), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse), Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range), and Rhenzy Feliz (Runaways) also feature in the cast.

Filming on the eight-episode series is expected to continue through to the middle of the year, with a 2024 premiere on HBO Max looking likely.
