After the surprising and perplexing casting of Kim Kardashian in the twelfth season of American Horror Story, Deadline has reported Only Murders in the Building and Carnival Row star Cara Delevingne has joined the cast alongside the reality star mogul and AHS veteran Emma Roberts.
There is no word on who Delevingne, Roberts or Kardashian will play in the new season. While Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will remain executive producers on season 12, it will be written and showrun by Halley Feiffer and rather than be an original story as the previous seasons have been, it will be based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition by author Danielle Valentine. The official title for the season will be American Horror Story: Delicate.
Out in August from Sourcebooks Landmark, the novel is described as “a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens. A cover blurb from author Andrea Bartz describes Delicate Condition as ‘the feminist update to Rosemary’s Baby we all needed.'”
AHS: Delicate will begin shooting in New York City in April. The season is expected to air this summer with FX with Ryan Murphy reportedly announcing the premiere date in May.
