Warner Bros. have unveiled the first-look at their eagerly-anticipated Oswald Cobblepot spin-off series The Penguin, which sees recent Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell reprising his critically acclaimed role from Matt Reeves’ $770 million grossing The Batman.
The Penguin, which is currently in production, will run for eight episodes, and pick up the story immediately where the 2022 blockbuster finished, finding Farrell’s titular villain at the top of the Gotham City food-chain following the death of Carmine Falcone.
Starring alongside Farrell is Cristin Milioti as Carmine’s daughter Sofia Falcone; Michael Zegen as Carmine’s son Alberto Falcone; and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, who used to be a name in the Gotham underworld. Set to debut sometime in 2024, you can check out the teaser below…
Taking place one week following the events of The Batman, the series explores the rise to power of Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/Penguin in Gotham City’s criminal underworld.
Featuring in the cast of The Penguin are Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, and David H. Holmes.
The Penguin streams on Max sometime in 2024.
