Those pesky xenomorphs have been dormant since 2017’s Alien: Covenant threatened to put the franchise into cryogenic sleep, but these last few weeks have seen Fede Alvarez’s Alien movie start production, and now Noah Hawley’s FX Alien series has found its lead in Don’t Worry Darling‘s Sydney Chandler.
During the latest episode of The Hot Mic Podcast, Above the Line’s Jeff Sneider revealed that Chandler, daughter of Friday Night Lights actor Kyle, would be taking the lead in Noah Hawley’s shrouded-in-secrecy Alien series.
Getting information about the show has been as difficult as receiving a signal from Hadley’s Hope on LV-426, but Hawley is writing the as-yet-untitled Alien series alongside WandaVision‘s Bobak Esfarjani, and we know that it is set long before Ridley Scott’s first film featuring Sigourney Weaver as Ripley and takes place on Earth towards the end of the 21st century.
Chandler had a breakout year in 2022, playing The Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde in Danny Boyle’s Sex Pistols biopic Pistols, as well as appearing in Olivia Wilde’s much-ballyhooed sophomore feature Don’t Worry Darling.
Production on the Ridley Scott produced series is set to get underway sometime this year. Let us know whether you’re looking forward to Noah Hawley’s Alien by heading to our social channels at @FlickeringMyth…
