If you were waiting for the next live-action Disney remake, Dwayne Johnson has good news for you. The actor was recently on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and was able to confirm that his next film will be Moana, the live-action adaptation of the hit animated film.
Johnson tells the host, “My next project that I’ll be shooting is a live-action version of Moana. I am the real-life Maui… I’m so excited about this. It’s a way, again, to not only pay homage to my Polynesian heritage and culture, but it’s also just such a – as you guys know – incredible story that resonates with everyone around the world, especially young girls and empowering young girls.

“There’s what’s in front of you, and then there’s the stuff that you can’t see that’s way out there,” he adds. “Have faith and confidence in what you are, and go out there, even if you can’t see it. Moana happens to meet the demigod Maui, who helps her see that, and she helps him.”
