After working together numerous times, Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are cooking up what could be their most memorable project yet.
We previously reported that Coogler and Jordan would work on a genre film together, the first pairing between the two since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Now, there are reports from Deadline that the duo’s film has found a home at Warner Bros. Discovery.
The trade described the bidding war as “a highly competitive situation” and saw multiple studios vying to make this project between two industry titans.
Very little is known of the still-untitled film, but it’s described as a ‘genre’ feature and could be a period piece. One report even placed the movie within the world of horror, noting that the two were working on a vampire movie. None of this has been confirmed at the time of writing.
This marks the first original film from Coolger since his time at Marvel Studios, where he helmed the massively successful Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As for Michael B. Jordan, he’s coming off his directorial debut, Creed III, in which he also starred.
Production is expected to start in April.
